This is really simple. It was a class assignment.
What it's about: Basically the cosmetic industry does not have to label ingredients and many of them just so happen to be carcinogenic, but they don't need to tell us that because they have really poor regulations! And according to this article here: [link] North America is the worst for not caring enough to ban certain carcinogens: "In Europe, regulators have told the industry it cant use some 400 chemicals - including suspected carcinogens. And theyre about to ban more. The U.S. and Canada ban only a handful." Although I do find a lot of the "everything will give you cancer" propaganda a little paranoid at times, I'm confident it's an issue when the industry refuses to implement regulations such as these. Not to mention the cosmetic industry, as well as the rest of the beauty industry, in my opinion, is pretty evil as it stands anyway. They mess with our perception enough, telling us how to be the most aesthetically appealing (and convincing us to choose "beauty" over health day after day). I don't trust their judgment, do you? --- I thought I should post something as I haven't submitted in a while. I no longer have Photoshop! It makes me sad. So this was my first time using Gimp, which by the way made me feel like a gimp trying to use it. I forgot how awkward it is learning new things. I have mixed feelings about the program still. --- Credit where it is deserved: these two lovely images were provided by |
